Welcome to Mathematics at Bulahdelah Central School.
Our staff consists of a range of experienced teachers who possess skills that will give students the academic challenges and opportunities to enjoy mathematics.
Mathematics is done by all students in Stages 4 and 5 until they attain the School Certificate in Year 10.
Along the way students are given opportunities to enter competitions, learn computing skills associated with mathematics and develop an appreciation for the role that numeracy plays in our everyday lives. Students from BCS have shown great improvement in Mathematics over the last few years compared both to previous years and the rest of the state.
High expectations, homework and self directed learning are part of what we expect to develop in all students.
Students can elect to do General Mathematics, Mathematics and Extension 1 Mathematics in Stage 6 – Years 11 and 12 – culminating in the HSC .
For the more able and gifted student, there is an opportunity to do Extension 2 Mathematics as well.
