About

The Humanities Faculty covers the curriculum areas of English, History and Drama. The faculty is comprised of eight teachers, all of whom are experienced and dedicated. As a faculty we believe that action is the proper fruit of knowledge and that education is not so much received as achieved. We aim to provide the conditions and opportunities for students to learn.

The Humanities faculty is committed to the promotion of excellence and achievement. High expectations are reflected in all teaching and learning programs, as well as student assessment. Our aim is to support each student to achieve their personal best.

Teachers in the faculty are encouraged to continually reflect on their teaching practices and to participate in professional learning. We strive to engage our students through the use of a range of teaching strategies that meet the learning needs of all students. We aim to teach students to take responsibility for their learning, encouraging them to become independent learners.

The development of these skills is essential if students are to successfully meet the challenges of the demanding English, History and Drama courses… and the world beyond!
