This web site was created using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (moss).

It has two main parts. You are viewing the first, which is available on the internet without needing to log in. It has anonymous access. The second, which you can enter by clicking here, requires authentication. You access it from school with your internet username and password. From home, you need your full education email address and your password.

The first part has lots of publicly available information about the school, while the second is used for students and staff to communicate. The second part of our site is also available to students from our partner schools.

We like this technology because we can edit our web site with with our browsers and it gives our site administrators a lot of power without needing a lot of technical knowledge. We hope that it will continue growing and becoming richer, as well as more fun.

There are a lot of people to thank. From industry, we have been given generous technical help by Matt Barnfield from Microsoft, as well as Tom Crawford and Greg Doherty from Unisys. Nikki Deighton and Meredith King from DK2 have provided valuable mentoring. Eleanor Igoe from the Department of Education and Training and Felicia Brown from Microsoft run the Partners in Learning program and without their untiring support there would be no project at our school, which would be the poorer for it. Deb Gilbert provides a constant supply of inspiration, ideas and energy. Bob Brenton is a strong supporter and a constant reminder that the focus of all our efforts must be the kids' education, welfare and wellbeing. Content, advice and technical collaboration have been willingly provided by students and staff from our school.

As I write this and post it on the site I can't help thinking that this is an immensely powerful tool. In a couple of minutes, these words will be live on the net... and it's fun, too. Once a nerd...
