Bulahdelah Central School

Welcome to our web site.

Bulahdelah Central School serves a supportive community located on the Myall River midway between Forster and Tea Gardens on the lower north coast of NSW.

Our school has completed a major capital works program which has provided new science labs, general learning spaces, a specific purpose middle school complex, art and TAS facilities and a gymnasium. These modern facilities provide a physical learning environment that compliments the comprehensive educational programs that operate for students from kindergarten to year 12. In our unique educational setting students achieve excellent academic results as well as preparation for a wide range of Vocational Education careers.

Focus areas for 2009 and beyond include Quality Teaching and student engagement with a strong emphasis on middle years initiatives (Years 5 to 8). The school is developing best practice use of data to enhance student outcomes.

BCS is also committed to integrating technology into effective classroom practice and has been involved in a partnership a with DET and Microsoft to develop innovative practices. Our successful digital story-writing and claymation initiatives will continue this year.

Several of our staff and students have received statewide recognition for integrating technology into teaching and learning and our school designed portal is being used as a template for possible extension to other schools.

Currently we are extending the close links with our partner schools and developing the Myall Learning Community. The MLC is developing shared targets for middle years students particularly in numeracy.

We are proud of the achievements of our students and staff as well as the collegial atmosphere that prevails at our school.
